Spatial Planning and Public Infrastructure (127SPPI)

Annotation:

In this course, foreign students will learn about urbanism and spatial planning in the Czech Republic, which will be monitored in detail through individual concepts of public infrastructure areas (transport and technical infrastructure, public services and public space) and specific conditions for areal and spatial arrangement of technical equipment of the territory.

The course consists of thematic lectures and seminar work.

 

Syllabus of lectures:

1) Public infrastructure in spatial planning activities - introduction, legislation (Building Act), types of spatial planning tools.

2) Public infrastructure in spatial planning – spatial development policy.

3) Public infrastructure in spatial planning - planning analytical documentation.

4) Public infrastructure in spatial planning – planning (urban) studies.

5) Public infrastructure in spatial planning - principles of land-use planning development.

6) Public infrastructure in spatial planning – local plan.

7) Public infrastructure in spatial planning - regulatory plan.

8) Planning permisions, planning contracts.

9) Geographical information systems in spatial planning.

10) Conditions of spatial arrangement of technical equipment of the territory.

11) Associated routes of technical equipment of the territory.

12) Standards of public services availability.

13) Public spaces.

2020/02/27 - 1st presentation about your residence

2020/03/12 - assignment of task for surveys and analysis of selected public space in Prague (square or pedestrian zone)

2020/03/26 - excursion to Prague

2020/04/09 – 2nd presentation of basic information about selected public space in Prague

2020/04/23 – practical exercises from GIS

2020/04/07 – 3rd presentation of values, functional components and problems of the selected public space + submission of the poster A1 + exam
